On May 27th, Cellist Yo-Yo Ma comes to Vienna with his Bach project. As part of a “Day of Action”, a participatory discussion event on the social opening of art spaces will take place at the Secession.
On 27 January, the NOW Mayors’ Network met at the Vienna City Hall to learn about the youth participation project of the City of Vienna “Werkstadt Junges Wien” and discuss how to intensify their collaboration.
More than 20 mayors and municipal experts from eight different countries of the NOW Mayors’ Network came together in the district of Hameln-Pyrmont in Lower Saxony. The topic at the centre of discussion was social cohesion.
On 6th and 7th October 2018, Act.Now, in cooperation with SabirMaydan, organised two roundtable discussions at the SabirFest in Catania, Italy. Local decision makers, members of civil society and institutional representatives discussed Mediterranean city-to-city cooperation and types of active citizenship for more resilient local communities.
At this year’s International Round Table Vienna on “Human Trafficking in the Digital Age”, hosted by Helga Konrad, international experts, practitioners, researchers and stakeholders analysed and discussed various issues and solutions related to the interplay between ‘new’ technology, trafficking and anti-human trafficking.
15 mayors and municipality experts of the NOW Mayors’ Network from Austria, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Slovenia, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan met for three days on the Greek island of Chios to share experiences, exchange ideas and good-practice examples on migration and social cohesion.
In connection with the 5th NOW Conference in Vienna the City Councillor Jürgen Czernohorszky and Act.Now organised a field exposure for the NOW Working Group of mayors and their accompanying experts to initiatives and projects of the City of Vienna.
On 26th of January the Burgtheater’s centre stage was equally taken by humanity, the connecting and artistic quality. Over 30 outstanding musicians, actresses, authors and poets, … from about 20 nationalities took part at the event to emphasis what we have in common rather than those things which divided us.
