Recent developments in Lebanon show us, once again, why it is crucial to work for a peaceful, just and good coexistence. A short report from Beirut on the current protests happening in Lebanon and why we had to make the decision to cancel the field exposure of the NOW Mayors’ Network.
From 30 June to 2 July over 60 participants gathered, including mayors and municipal experts from 10 different countries within the NOW Mayors’ Network, as well as researchers and NGO representatives from NOW Working Groups. Over the three days they learned about successful community projects and discussed topics pivotal to social cohesion in cities and communities.
On 27 January, the NOW Mayors’ Network met at the Vienna City Hall to learn about the youth participation project of the City of Vienna “Werkstadt Junges Wien” and discuss how to intensify their collaboration.
More than 20 mayors and municipal experts from eight different countries of the NOW Mayors’ Network came together in the district of Hameln-Pyrmont in Lower Saxony. The topic at the centre of discussion was social cohesion.
15 mayors and municipality experts of the NOW Mayors’ Network from Austria, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Slovenia, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan met for three days on the Greek island of Chios to share experiences, exchange ideas and good-practice examples on migration and social cohesion.
In connection with the 5th NOW Conference in Vienna the City Councillor Jürgen Czernohorszky and Act.Now organised a field exposure for the NOW Working Group of mayors and their accompanying experts to initiatives and projects of the City of Vienna.
